Piper Perabo





Perabo was born on Halloween in Dallas, Texas and grew up in Toms River, New Jersey, the daughter of Mary Charlotte (née Ulland), a physical therapist, and George William Perabo, the Dean of English & Literature at Ocean County College. She is of Portuguese and Norwegian descent. Her parents chose to name her after actress Piper Laurie. She graduated from Ohio University, in Athens, Ohio.
Career
In 2000, Perabo was cast in The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle as lead character FBI agent Karen Sympathy. Her next film, Coyote Ugly, was more of a star-making role. She played Violet Sanford, nicknamed "Jersey," a young woman who moves to New York to pursue her dream of becoming a songwriter. Perabo took lessons in voice, guitar, piano and bartending to prepare for the role. Despite poor reviews, the film was a modest box-office success and she won an MTV Movie Award for Best Music Moment for "One Way or Another."

In 2001, Perabo starred in an independent Canadian movie called Lost and Delirious, playing a boarding school student who falls in love with a female classmate. The next year, she starred as a French exchange student in Slap Her... She's French, which was shelved in North America for two years, then released under the new title She Gets What She Wants. The film was released under its original title in Europe. In 2003, she had a role as the eldest Baker child, Nora, in Cheaper by the Dozen (2003) which she reprised in its 2005 sequel.

Other recent films include The Inside (2003), Perfect Opposites (2004), George and the Dragon (2004), The Cave (2005), Imagine Me & You (2005), Edison (2005), The Prestige (2006) and Beverly Hills Chihuahua (2008). She appeared as a nutritionist on the Fox TV show House.

In 2009, Perabo made her Broadway debut in the Neil LaBute play reasons to be pretty.

Mark Teixeira


Mark Charles Teixeira; born April 11, 1980, in Annapolis, Maryland) is an American Major League Baseball player for the New York Yankees. Mostly a first baseman, he has also played third base and in the outfield. He played college baseball at Georgia Tech, where in 2001 he won the Dick Howser Trophy as the national collegiate baseball player of the year.
Teixeira, who is of partial Portuguese ancestry was drafted in 2001 by the Texas Rangers, and made his MLB debut for them in 2003. In mid-2007 he was traded to the Atlanta Braves, and traded again in mid-2008 to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. In December 2008, he agreed to a contract with the New York Yankees. Teixeira has thrice won the Gold Glove Award and twice won the Silver Slugger Award.

Louis Ferreira







Louis Ferreira (formerly known as Justin Louis) is a Portuguese-born Canadian actor. He was born on February 20, 1967 in Terceira, Açores, Portugal and immigrated with his parents to Canada early in his life. He grew up in North York, Ontario. Ferreira is best-known for his roles in Stargate Universe as Colonel Everett Young, serial killer Ray Prager in Durham County (Season 1), and FBI Assistant Director John Pollock in Missing.

Career:

In 2009, Ferreira was featured as David Mayles in the HBO award winning film Grey Gardens opposite Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore. Other film work includes roles with Mark Walberg in Shooter for Paramount, and The Lazarus Child – a thriller that starred Angela Basset and Andy Garcia. His other appearances include 1-800-Missing, Dawn of the Dead, Starship Troopers, 24, CSI: Miami, Criminal Minds, The Outer Limits, Star Trek: Voyager, Letters To God, The Marsh, and The Pretender. He appeared in the film Saw IV as the character Art Blank. He has had the pleasure of working with many top notch directors including Peter Segal, John Wells, Gary David Goldberg, Stephen Boccho and his favorite Canadian directors, David Cronenberg and Nicholas Campbell.
Ferreira won rave reviews for his portrayal of Donald Trump in Trump Unauthorized and was a lead in the A&E acclaimed miniseries Andromeda Strain. In 2008, he WON the Gemini Award for Leading Actor for his chilling portrayal of serial killer Ray Prager in Durham County. Beginning in 2009, Ferreira is delighted to join the Stargate Universe team as Colonel Everett Young

Daniela Ruah





Born in Boston, Massachusetts, the only daughter of Dr. Moisés Carlos Bentes Ruah and Catarina Lia Azancot, Daniela Ruah lived in the United States until the age of five.
She started her acting career in
Portugal. Her first acting role came at the age of 16, when she auditioned for a soap opera Jardins Proibidos, and cast for the role of Sara.[1] She kept working on diverse projects, as well as finishing high school. At the age of 18 moved to London, England to do a B.A. in Performing Arts at the London Metropolitan University. Having finished with a first class Honors, Daniela returned to Portugal to pursue more work. She was given principal roles in television series, short films, theatre and in 2007 moved to New York to study at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute and pursue her career
